Motueka Mitre 10

Coman Construction was engaged by Wakatu Incorporation to undertake the significant building extensions to the existing Motueka Mitre 10 store.

The project included the construction of a tilt slab, slab on grade 900 sq.m extension to the eastern side of the existing store, a 1,000 sq.m tilt slab, slab on grade extension to the western side of the existing store, renovation of the existing store, which includes the Garden Centre, and a carpark space of over 2,300 sq.m.

The tenant, Motueka Mitre 10 needed to remain operational throughout the course of construction, and continual access needed to be maintained to the carpark to ensure that trading levels were maintained.  Managing this request required careful staged planning from Coman Construction to manage the health and safety for the general public, retailers and employees accessing the offices and staff amenities through the construction site, whilst ensuring that the project was completed on time.
